Champagne Gardet Brut Premier Cru

Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Sonoma 2012

Ridge Vineyards Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Sonoma 2012

Dark purple color. Nose of spices, small black berries, brown sugar, but it’s the finesse of the wine that impress the most. Same aromatic profile on the palate, the wine’s finesse goes along with its vigor and youth. Long finish with a little heat, but this wine is so good! Have to be decanted if drank now to lower its current strenght, but then so enjoyable. Excellent (91), but will be even better.

Blend of Zinfandel (70%), Petite Sirah (21%), Carignan and Mataro. Aged 14 months in American oak barrels,  25% new, 55% from 1 to 3 wines and 20% of 4 wines. Alcohol level of 14,4%

Dark colored. Nose and palate of pepper, dark berries, it’s spicy and leather on the finish. There is also a chewy mouthfeel and structure, so it need meat to pair with it! If you like bolder and full-bodied wines, you may enjoy this one. Good+ (88)

Domaine Marcel Lapierre Raisins Gaulois 2015

Light ruby color with purple hue. Nose of small berries, spices, earth and this light natural wine funkyness. There is a great acidity in this wine which is good since it comes from the warm 2015 vintage, and I like that! Then there was berry flavors ,earth and spices notes. It was quaffable, fresh and really good. You’re looking for a wine that will pair with heavyier winter dish? This one’s for you! Very good (89)

Domaine Tempier Cabassaou Bandol 2012

Dark and deep purple color. Nose of black berries, spices, herbs, it’s bright, deep and mysterious. Greatly structured on the palate, it is quite powerful at this stage. Flavors of spicy black berries with small berry jam and a mineral touch on the finish. This can’t hide the fact that it comes from a warm climate area, but that doesn’t lower its great ageing potential as this will be amazing after some years in the cellar. Very good+ (90

Les Vergers Lafrance Rouge Gorge Vermouth de pomme

Les Vergers Lafrance Rouge Gorge Vermouth de pomme

Amber and caramel color. Nose of dried herbs, caramel, molasse, apples and bright spicy notes. The dried herbs are there at first on the palate, then came a sweet and gentle touch on a very long and almost infinite long finish. There were also flavors of brown apples and dry fruits. This was so close to show its WOW factor, but I guess all that was missing is more of that Vermouth in the glass! Original yet very good product made locally. Very good+ (90)

Domaine Laurent Martray Brouilly Combiaty 2015

Medium dark light purple color. Nose of flowers, sweet red berries, earth and spices. Chewy on the palate, we feel the warmer vintage with the typical ripe fruit, but the wine still have enough acidity and concentration to be enjoyable and fresh. Once again, I like that wine that will be perfect for pairing with richer dishes or with a deli meat plate when Spring will be back! Very good (89)

Dark garnet color. Nose of smoke, black berries, leather, spices and oak. Palate of black berries, spices and leather, then a hint of greens and oak. A little dry on the finish due to the tannins, the wine is enjoyable, especially after some air and is clearly better with food. Very good+ (90)
