Claude Riffault Les Chailloux Sancerre 2014

Light and bright gold color. Deep nose of lemon, peachescrushed rocks and a pretty saltiness. On the palate there is that round and almost fat mouthfeel, there is also acidity, salty and sea shell notes, then lemon, lime and peach flavors. Might feel a little rich, but this is so elegant with a long lasting finish that it can just be good! Excellent (91)

Made of sauvignon blanc from 13 to 40 years old vines. Aged in oak barrels for less than a year. Alcohol level of 13%

Still shows a dark color with brownish rim. The nose is clearly on evolutive notes such as dry leaves, tobacco, earth with some alcohol. More expressive on the palate, this wine pairs a good acididy with some back bone and a long lasting finish. Of course the aromas are also on the registry of evolved ones, but that’s exactly what’s charming about this wine, that with the opportunity to open a bottle of mature wine without having to broke. Good+ (88)

Blend of Merlot and Cabernet. Alcohol level of 12,5%

Lighlty colored. Fine and subtle nose of lemon, pear and salty notes. Having the same low profile on the palate at first, air did helped the wine. The finish offered a good flavor concentration followed by a good acidity level. Flavors of lemon, pear, green apples and salty notes again. Good+ (88)

Lighly colored with green hue. Nose of grapefruit, citrus fruit, herbacious and box tree notes in a fresh, mineral and expressive way. On the palate the acidity blends with a round and almost fat mouthfeel even if the wine is dry, and last quite long in a mineral finish. Very good (89)

Bright ruby color. Nose of flowers, red berries with some spices and earth notes with an incredible freshness. On the palate, it’s as pure, festive and enjoyable as pinot can often be. Fruit flavors leads the way as it might not seems that complex at this stage, but it’s really tasty, intense with bursting flavors. Astounding accessibility with a high level of enjoyment, a real treat. Excellent (91)

Dark cherry color. Nose of wild berries, spices and just a hint of old wood. So good and smooth on the palate, one could say it’s dense and chewy, but it drinks so well and feels like pure silk! This is a classy California wine made from a grape variety too often used in industrial wines. Liked it a lot and this is probably my favorite Zinfandel wine other than the top wines from Ridge Vineyards, my personal refrence for that type of wine. Excellent (91)

Made of 92 % Zinfandel, 5 % Petite Sirah, 3 % Carignan, Chesselas, and Riesling. Aged in used French and American oak barrels. Alcohol level of 13,8%

Pretty bright ruby color. Nose of flowers, berries, some aromatic herbs, then earth and spices. Charming nose of natural Gamay wine at its best. There is so much fruit notes in that wine! It’s sappy, enjoyable, thirst your quench for sure, then show some structure with spicy and mineral notes. It will be hard no to drink quickly the bottles I have… Very good+ (90)

Light yellow color with green hue. The wine is screaming its variety of Riesling on the nose with citrus fruit and pine tree aromas. Bright, fresh, dry, salty on the palate with an almost rocky feel and a touch of bitterness on the finish. Feels young and will probably be even better with more cellaring time. Very good (89)

Made of Riesling from vines planted in 1885 of german and alsacian root stock. Aged up to 8 months in stainless tanks. Alcohol level of 12%
