Château d’Aiguilhe Côtes de Castillon 2004

Dark garnet color. Nose of dark berries, spices, cappucino, smoke and cedar wood. Still lively and mouthcoating. Drank over few hours, the wine never fainted and showed well with a great flavor concentration, quite tasty while being ready to drink. Classic Bordeaux wine with its usual charm! Excellent (91)

Made of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). Aged 18 months in oak barrels, 60% being new. Alcohol level of 13,5%

Color between garnet and ruby, but clearly looks older than the wine really is. At bottle opening, I had aromas of fur, cherries in alcohol and earth. Air did brought fruit and some green notes. Despite being rustic on the palate, Pinot Noir did show itself with red berries, fine spices and earth. Good acidity level, quite long with some heat on the finish and drinks well now. Ambiguous result (was hoping for more from this wine), I did enjoyed it and the bottle was emptied easily. Very good+ (90)

Beautiful light gold color. Fine bubbles, good concentration, this is just so good. While drinking this Champagne, I got the image of a roasted slice of bread with butter, lemon zest and sliced & slated green apple. With its very long and slightly salted finish, this gave me a good wine moment. Grand Champagne. Superb+ (94)

Vina Montgras Ninquen Colchagua Valley 2012

Vina Montgras Ninquen Colchagua Valley 2012

Dark violet color.Quite herbal a first with aromatic herbs, bitter chocolate, dark fruit, spices and charred oak. With air it became more fine and revealed more complex aromas. Dense on the palate, but silky, long and flavorful, less herbal than on the nose. Air did helped too making the wine more enjoyable, may be charming, but good! Please qive some air to enjoy properly this wine and do not hesitate to put down some bottles to age (which I do have having few vintages in the cellar) and you won’t regret it. Very good+ (90)

Château Cailleteau-Bergeron Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux 2014

Lightly colored with green hue. Nose of grass, grape fruit, fresh and very “spring” season like with its flower notes. Follows on the palate with about the same flavors and despite the medium acidity level, this wine does have some freshness to it. Will be at its best paired with cheeses of a meal with white meat. Good+ (88)
