Château Cambon Beaujolais 2015

Own by Marcel Lapierre‘s familly and Jean Claude Chanudet from Domaine Chamonard. Dark ruby color with pink rim. Nose of spicy red berriessmoke, flowers, it’s fresh and inviting. So tasty on the palate with its fruit flavors, finely spiced, this is just bottled fun! Balanced between the chewyness of the wine, the acidity and the ripeness of the vintage. Very good+ (90)

Dark and shiny ruby color. Nose of strawberries, cranberries, aromatic herbs, spices and earth. Flavorful, does have some depth, have notes of spices and the finish shows a good acidity level. Medium structured, it doesn’t stop one to drink it quite rapidly! Very good (89)

The color is between ruby and light garnet. Expressive nose of small berries, earth, sweet spices and that natural wine but balanced twist. Had some fizz at bottle opening, but disappeared quickly to offer pure goodness and litterally quench our thirst as it drinks so well. It had fruit, it’s fun to drink and yes, we do want more (J’en Veux Encore)! Very good+ (90)

Made of old Gamay vines from Beaujolais and Jura old grape varieties. Natural winemaking, no fining or sulfur added. Aged 10 months. Alcohol level of 12%

Excellent (91)

Made of old Gamay vines from Morgon Cru in Beaujolais. Organic farming and natural winemaking. Alcohol level of 12%

Foggy ruby color with purple hue. Nose of berries, earth and spices with that little “funky” natural wine typical twist. As it is often the case, it’s on the palate that I like natural wine the most on the palate, and that’s exactly what’s happening now! High drinkability with red berry flavors, earth, spices and a good acidity, clearly my type of wine. May be a little expensive, but so tasty. Very good (89)

Made of Gamay, Poulsard and old vines varieties from Jura. Aged 10 months. Alcohol level of 12,5%

Available at SAQ stores for 30,25$ (Code SAQ : 12883998)

Foggy and intense gold color. The nose is intriguing, hard to describe and is like nothing I had before. I would picture it as a blend of aromas of apples, rhubarb and orange spreaded over a slate rock, plus some smoke and pie crust dough. Even more dense on the palate with apple and tangerine flavors, quite round at first then it straighten up with mineral chalk and rocks with a salty touch. Wide on the palate while being straight forward, long, genuine and tasty. One special thing I liked about that wine is that impression of control and balance. Excellent (91)91)

Made of Chardonnay planted on marnes du Lias type of soil. Organic farming, natural winemaking, no sulfur added. Alcohol level of 12%

Dark red cherry color. Nose of crushed red berries, spices, flowers, it’s pure, it’s naturally made Gamay! So good, chewy and refreshing on the palate and the bottle was gone so fastwhich is usually a good sign! Flavors of red berries, cherries, flowers and red meat. Good acidity, quite long finish, to me, that was good. Very good + (90)

How could I describe my apprecciation for this wine other thanliked it a LOT! Fruit flavor loaded, fine spices, amazing freshness and it drinks so easily. To my palate, even better than the same wine from 2013 vintage and that one was my favorite Gamay from Beaujolais available in SAQ stores in 2015. Had to buy more just to get to the upcoming summer… Excellent (91)
