Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2006

Ruby color. Nose full of fruit, spices and bacon fat notes. Palate loaded of fruit flavors, spices and is very complex. Will change constantly with air with a tighter finish, a sign that the wine is still young. Excellent+ (92)

Made of Pinot Noir from 70 to 100+ years old vines. Aged 15-16 months in new oak barrels. Alcohol level of 13,5%

Clos Rougeard Les Poyeux Saumur-Champigny 2006

Clos Rougeard Les Poyeux Saumur-Champigny 2006

Medium garnet color. Deep nose of red berries, pepper, flowers, so fine and beautiful. The seduction follows on the palate with its silky mouth coating, so gentle. Then flavors of red fruit, a touch of grilled bell pepper, some spices, so long finish and really charms the taster! Tasted blind (with knowing which wine it is or have seen the bottle), I was aiming at a beautiful Côte-Rôtie. I was wrong, but still explainable with the finesse of the wine. First time with this particular wine, had before the “Clos” from the same vintage. This was a magnificent wine. Superb+ (94)

Made of Cabernet Franc from a 2,9ha vineyard by “les frères Foucault”, Jean-Louis « Charlie » et Bernard « Nady ». Their wine follows the organic farming principles without having the certification since the ’70s. Aged 18-24 months in one year french oak barrels. Alcohol level of 12,5%
