De Martino Legado Cabernet-Sauvignon Reserva Maipo 2008

Dark ruby color. Typical nose of a Cabernet based wine beginning its maturation. It’s fine, fruity, have a hint of leather, of tobacco, some spices and bitter chocolate aromas. Silky yet still concentrated, this is just so good. Long tasty finish. This is the type of wine that would change your mind about cellaring Reserva range Chilean wines. For its showing and how much I’ve liked this wine, I’m giving this note: Excellent (91)

Made of Cabernet-Sauvignon. Aged 12 months in french oak barrels. Alcohol level of 13,5%

Dark garnet color. Powerful nose of black berries, smoke, earth, spices and oak notes. It’s deep and complex. Silky mouthfeel that completely coats the palate with its fruit flavors, spices, rich oak notes, but balanced and fine with is impressive. So long and tasty finish. An iron fist in a velvet glove. Superb (92)

From a 375ml bottle. Made of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Individual fermentation of grape varieties in small oak barrels. After the wine is blended, it is aged 12 months in oak barrels. Alcohol level of 13,5%

Luciano Sandrone Barbera d’Alba 2008

The color is dark and slightly purple. Powerful aromas of spicy black berries, dry fruits, earth, flowers and dust. Tasty and spicy with flavors of black licorice, black pepper, black berries, ripe blue grapes and floral notes. Silky on the palate, the wine is also structured feeling young and showing that it can handle few more years of cellaring. Very good+ (90)

Made of Barbera from Cascina Pe Mol, Castelletto, Rocche di San Nicola vineyards. Each vineyard was vinified separately. Aged 12 months in French oak tonneaux of 500l (half new) followed by 9 months in bottle. Alcohol level of 13,5%

Last vintage sold at the SAQ was the 2011 at 35,25$ (Code SAQ : 10663844)
