Domaine Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Boucherottes 2012

This wine comes from Le Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot, the historical ownership from Louis Jadot and not their negoce activities.

Medium ruby pink color with a rim color that looks like the wine have some age. Dense and deep nose with aromatic notes of flowers, red berries, cherries, earth, spices and fine oak notes. Also have some concentration on the palate with sour berries, long salty and slightly oaky finish, so tasty and this really feels like a treat. Since I needed a good wine that night, my expectations were fulfilled! Excellent (91)

Lighlty colored. Fine and subtle nose of lemon, pear and salty notes. Having the same low profile on the palate at first, air did helped the wine. The finish offered a good flavor concentration followed by a good acidity level. Flavors of lemon, pear, green apples and salty notes again. Good+ (88)

Bouchard Père & Fils Côte de Beaune-Villages 2013

Light ruby-orange color. Nose of spicy red berries, earth and blood orange. Real red berry juice on the palate with black pepper notes, this wine is what we should aim at while drinking this Burgundy range wines; fruit, pinot noir character and drinkability. Don’t let yourself be fooled by this wine simplicity, but enjoy it for what it is which is exactly what I did! Very good (89)

Bright ruby color. Nose of flowers, red berries with some spices and earth notes with an incredible freshness. On the palate, it’s as pure, festive and enjoyable as pinot can often be. Fruit flavors leads the way as it might not seems that complex at this stage, but it’s really tasty, intense with bursting flavors. Astounding accessibility with a high level of enjoyment, a real treat. Excellent (91)

Beautiful golden color. Complex nose of citrus fruits, ripe fruits, flowers, salty notes and fine oak aromas. Followed flavors of fresh pineapple, citrus fruit and minerality shows again, but what impresses me the most is the texture of the wine. There is a round and fat mouthfeel, but finesse, there is acidity, but it doesn’t hide the richness of it while being remarkably balanced. Excellent+ (92)

Made of Chardonnay from 40+ years old vines. Aged in oak barrels with 20% being new. Alcohol level of 13,5%

This wine comes from the negoce activity of Pascal Marchand (Domaine Comte Armand et Domaine de la Vougeraie) and the Ontario native Moray Tawse. Medium dark ruby color with a pink rim. Nose of red berries, spices, earth, oak and some green notes. Powerful and slightly rustic on the palate, not very deep, it seems more approchable on the nose than on the palate at first. It have though fruit, spices, but the oak shows quite a lot. Long and a touch warm finish. I felt that this wine is pretty young as the glass I had on the second day was better and the last one, four days after having opened the bottle was great! Very good (89)

Made of Pinot Noir. Aged in oak barrels, 20% being new. Alcohol level of 13%

Ruby color. Fresh nose with fiels straberries, herbs and strawberry tips. Bright and mouth watering acidity on the palatewith flavors of red fruits, earth and spices. Became even better at the table and would be an excellent choice to pair with heavier dishes as its acidity would bring freshness to the plate, making the wine shine even more. Still pretty young, will be better after 2-3 years of cellaring. Good+ (88)

Made from 50 years old vines planted in Meursault.  Aged in oak barrels with 10% new oak and less than 5 years old barrels. Alcohol level of 12,5%

Color between garnet and ruby, but clearly looks older than the wine really is. At bottle opening, I had aromas of fur, cherries in alcohol and earth. Air did brought fruit and some green notes. Despite being rustic on the palate, Pinot Noir did show itself with red berries, fine spices and earth. Good acidity level, quite long with some heat on the finish and drinks well now. Ambiguous result (was hoping for more from this wine), I did enjoyed it and the bottle was emptied easily. Very good+ (90)

Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2006

Ruby color. Nose full of fruit, spices and bacon fat notes. Palate loaded of fruit flavors, spices and is very complex. Will change constantly with air with a tighter finish, a sign that the wine is still young. Excellent+ (92)
