Anne et Jean-François Ganevat J'en Veux Encore 2014

Anne et Jean-François Ganevat J’en Veux Encore 2014

7 September 2016/in Tasting notes/by dansmonverre

Anne et Jean-François Ganevat J’en Veux Encore 2014

The color is between ruby and light garnet. Expressive nose of small berries, earth, sweet spices and that natural wine but balanced twist. Had some fizz at bottle opening, but disappeared quickly to offer pure goodness and litterally quench our thirst as it drinks so well. It had fruit, it’s fun to drink and yes, we do want more (J’en Veux Encore)! Very good+ (90)

Made of old Gamay vines from Beaujolais and Jura old grape varieties. Natural winemaking, no fining or sulfur added. Aged 10 months. Alcohol level of 12%

Was sold at the SAQ for 36,75$, but sold completly quite fast… (Code SAQ : 12884190)

Jean Foillard Morgon Côte du Py 2014

Pretty bright ruby color. Nose of flowers, berries, some aromatic herbs, then earth and spices. Charming nose of natural Gamay wine at its best. There is so much fruit notes in that wine! It’s sappy, enjoyable, thirst your quench for sure, then show some structure with spicy and mineral notes. It will be hard no to drink quickly the bottles I have… Very good+ (90)

Vineyard of 8ha of vines from 10 to 90 years of age. Aged 6 to 9 months in used oak barrels that were previously used to age Burgundy wines. Alcohol level of 12,5%

Emidio Pepe Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2003

Dark garnet color. Nose of mushrooms, earth, cherries, small cooked berries and spices. Rustic at first on the palate with leather, meat, then dry fruits, spices, earth, dried flowers. Really became prettier with air and also gain weight. Feels ready to drink even if it could on for a few more years. Very good (89)

Made of 100% Montepulciano. Aged 2 years in cement tanks. Alcohol level of 13,5%

Anne & Jean-François Ganevat De Toute Beauté 2014

See trough light and foggy ruby color. On the nose there’s no doubt that this is a natural wine! Typical aromas completed by cherries, earth and spices notes. Medium open for now with its natural side leading. Fruit loaded on the palate, but still restrained as it feels like it’s not in place for now and still needs time to become the beauty the wine is trying to show. This doesn’t affect its drinkability and sip goes after sip quite easily and the acidity brings freshness to it. Should be layed down in the cellar for some time (1-2 years) to let it come around. Very good (89)

Made of 80 years old Gamay vines fruit from Fleurie and Pinot Noir from Gavenat’s vines. Alcohol level of 11,5%

Excellent (91)

Anne et Jean-François Ganevat Le Jaja du Ben Vin de France 2014

Foggy ruby color with purple hue. Nose of berries, earth and spices with that little “funky” natural wine typical twist. As it is often the case, it’s on the palate that I like natural wine the most on the palate, and that’s exactly what’s happening now! High drinkability with red berry flavors, earth, spices and a good acidity, clearly my type of wine. May be a little expensive, but so tasty. Very good (89)

Château Cambon Beaujolais Rosé 2015

Semi-dark pink color. Fresh nose of tart red fruit like cranberries and wild strawberries, then blood orange and wet rocks. Wide on the palate with a good acidity level, it’s tasty, fresh and satisfying. Perfect to enjoy a beautiful and sunny summer day! Good+ (88)

Jean-François Ganevat Le Montceau Côtes du Jura 2014

Foggy and intense gold color. The nose is intriguing, hard to describe and is like nothing I had before. I would picture it as a blend of aromas of apples, rhubarb and orange spreaded over a slate rock, plus some smoke and pie crust dough. Even more dense on the palate with apple and tangerine flavors, quite round at first then it straighten up with mineral chalk and rocks with a salty touch. Wide on the palate while being straight forward, long, genuine and tasty. One special thing I liked about that wine is that impression of control and balance. Excellent (91)91)

Made of Chardonnay planted on marnes du Lias type of soil. Organic farming, natural winemaking, no sulfur added. Alcohol level of 12%

Christophe Pacalet Chiroubles 2014

Dark red cherry color. Nose of crushed red berries, spices, flowers, it’s pure, it’s naturally made Gamay! So good, chewy and refreshing on the palate and the bottle was gone so fast, which is usually a good sign! Flavors of red berries, cherries, flowers and red meat. Good acidity, quite long finish, to me, that was good. Very good + (90)

Guy Breton Régnié 2013

Foggy ruby color. Nose of red berries, earth, dried flowers and this typical nature scent. About the same on the palate in a discret flavor intensity as it is not a monster of concentration and the nature profile of the wine is bringing the fruit up instead of overpowering it. Tasty and drinks rapidly! Very good (89)

Made of Gamay from vines of 35 years old and 100 years old, half from each plot. The ageing is made in part in 3+ wines burgundian oak barrels. Alcohol level of 12%
