Jean-Noël Bousquet Terre à Terre Corbières 2014

Ruby with purple hue. Nose of black berries, lots of spices with green notes. Medium concentration on the palate with fruit flavors, spices, herbs, leather and a little heat from the alcohol. Pretty good for the price! Good (87)

E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline 2006

E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline 2006

The wine is quite dark colored. Fine nose of spices, luxurious but balance oak aromas that lift the wine instead of overpowering it. This will be so much more complex with more cellaring time! Flavors of berries, spices (cinnamon), flowers with a fatty and rich oaky twist but in the same time well integrated and balanced. It’s deep and complex even if in its early years because this wine is really young. Even so, the wine is good and drinks well, like an oak plate carring fruits on it. My first time ever with one of the threeLalalafrom Guigal. Tasted blind without knowing which wine it was. Superb+ (94)

Made of 89% Syrah and 11% Viognier. Aged 40 months in new oak barrels. Alcohol level of 13,5%

Guy Breton Régnié 2013

Guy Breton Régnié 2013

Guy Breton Régnié 2013

Foggy ruby color. Nose of red berries, earth, dried flowers and this typical nature scent. About the same on the palate in a discret flavor intensity as it is not a monster of concentration and the nature profile of the wine is bringing the fruit up instead of overpowering it. Tasty and drinks rapidly! Very good (89)

Made of Gamay from vines of 35 years old and 100 years old, half from each plot. The ageing is made in part in 3+ wines burgundian oak barrels. Alcohol level of 12%

Hacienda Araucano Carmenere Reserva Colchagua 2013

Hacienda Araucano Carmenere Reserva Colchagua 2013

Dark purple color. Nose of black berries, spices, bitter chocolate and grilled greeen bell pepper. Silky mouthfeel that covers some strenght and bitterness, all classical Carmenere caracteristics. May not be long, exactly like the remaining time before grilling red meat dishes on the BBQ in the upcoming warmer season. I’m hungry now! Good (87)

Made of 100% Carmenère. Aged 10 months in 1 year old oak barrels. Alcohol level of 14%

G.D. Vajra Petracine Riesling Langhe 2010

G.D. Vajra Petracine Riesling Langhe 2010

Light yellow color with green hue. The wine is screaming its variety of Riesling on the nose with citrus fruit and pine tree aromas. Bright, fresh, dry, salty on the palate with an almost rocky feel and a touch of bitterness on the finish. Feels young and will probably be even better with more cellaring time. Very good (89)

Made of Riesling from vines planted in 1885 of german and alsacian root stock. Aged up to 8 months in stainless tanks. Alcohol level of 12%

Château Vallon des Brumes Bordeaux 2011

Château Vallon des Brumes Bordeaux 2011

Dark cherry color. Nose of small black berries, spices ans smoke. Smooth on the palate with a touch of Bordeaux classic structure and flavors on par with those from the nose. Good acidity, not as powerful as Bordeaux usually are, probably due to the 2011 vintage. Drinks well from now, would pair well with beef dishes! Good+ (88)

Georges Descombes Brouilly 2014

How could I describe my apprecciation for this wine other thanliked it a LOT! Fruit flavor loaded, fine spices, amazing freshness and it drinks so easily. To my palate, even better than the same wine from 2013 vintage and that one was my favorite Gamay from Beaujolais available in SAQ stores in 2015. Had to buy more just to get to the upcoming summer… Excellent (91)

Pierre-Marie Chermette Fleurie Poncié 2014

Pierre-Marie Chermette Fleurie Poncié 2014

Pierre-Marie Chermette Fleurie Poncié 2014

Dense ruby color. Nose of red berries, dried flowers, spices and old wood. Intense palate, very young feel with cherry pit, flowers and lots of spices that adds a little bite on the finish. Medium acidity level, a little rustic and harsh for now, ageing shows even if not from new barrels and for a long period of time. I could say that the wine is not in a dumb phase right now as better days are ahead, and with some air it is enjoyable from now. Will be much better though with some cellar ageing. Very good+ (90)

Made of Gamay from a sloped plot of 4,5ha. Aged 6 months in old oak barrels. Alcohol level of 13%

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière 2013

Medium dark gold color. Complex nose of grilled pineapples, grapefruit, pear, spices, oak and just a hint of salty water breeze. Flavor profile is about the same with the addition of chalk, lime in a round mouthfeel that still gives room for the acidity to show. This is young or course and oak is there, but drank over 8 hours it did showed how good this will be after few years of ageing. Excellent+ (92)

Michele Chiarlo Le Orme Barbera d’Asti 2013

Dark ruby color. Nose of black and red berries, lot of spices notes, some earth and stays fresh. Fruit loaded on the palate with again spices and a touch of bitterness. Acidity brings freshness and paired with its structure, it allows this wine to be paired with a lot of dishes. One of my favorite wines when I go visit family and friends, especially when I don’t know what we’re eating. Good+ (88)
