Anne & Jean-François Ganevat Y’a Bon the Canon 2014

Anne & Jean-François Ganevat Y’a Bon the Canon 2014

It is a natural wine, yes. It’s all coming from its foggy look, the fur and slightly « funky » aromas and its light fizz on the palate. But there is more. Explosive red berries flavors (cherries and cranberries), a great sappiness, flowers, black earth and a salty finish. A great chewy styled natural wine. Very good (89)

Made from their “negociant” activity, this wine is made of 80% Gamay and from old grape varieties from the Jura area; Petit Béclan, Gros Béclan and Geusche. Winemaking includes foot pressing of the grapes, carbonic maceration in tronconic tanks, natural yeast, no sulfur added. Certified organic and biodynamic. Alcohol level of 13%

Casa Silva Reserva Cuvée Colchagua Carmenère 2013

Casa Silva Reserva Cuvée Colchagua Carmenère 2013

Deep purple color. Aromas of black berries, bitter chocolate, spices, wet earth and oaky notes. The typical and silky mouthfeel from the Carmenère with its chocolate and green peppers flavors are completed with the other aromas already there. Flavorful and have a good length. Can be paired with a meat dish of a vegetarian meal having green peppers in it. Good+ (88)

Made of Carmenère. 60% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 6 months and 40% in stainless steel tanks. Alcohol level of 13,5%

Domaine Tollot-Beaut et Fils Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru 1999

Domaine Tollot-Beaut et Fils Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru 1999

Dark garnet with orange rim. Wild aromas of meat, of fern and berries. Seams a little harsh to me. Dense and complex mouthfeel with flavors of spices, small black berries and an enjoyable bitterness even if felt too serious (austere) and still structured. Tasted blind, I was thinking of an older Pommard wine. Very good (89)

Did not found any information about this wine and its ageing under oak. Alcohol level of 14%

Lammershoek LAM Pinotage Swartland South Africa 2013

Lammershoek LAM Pinotage Swartland South Africa 2013

Light and translucid garnet color. Typical aromas of natural wine with black earth, some spices, red fruits and a little “funky” twist. Initially having a light bubbly feel on the palate, this aspect will disappear with time. Then got flavors of Morello cherries, orange peel and tree branches. It’s fresh, have a bight acidity and… can’t say anything else as the bottle is already empty. Paired well with a hot summer day. Very good (89)

Made of Pinotage grape. Inclusion of 30% whole bunch during fermentation. Aged in 5000L foudre, 9400L concrete tank and 225L barrels. Alcohol level of 12,5%

Perrot-Minot Morey-St-Denis 1er cru La Riotte Vieilles Vignes 2002

Domaine Perrot-Minot Morey-St-Denis 1er cru La Riotte Vieilles Vignes 2002

The wine is quite dark. Up front spices aromas, but also have fruit, some green notes coming from the inclusion of whole cluster and oak still shows a bit. Chewy mouth feel with fruit flavors, load of spices, long and dense finish with a lot of structure left in the wine. Tasted blind, I was guessing a 1er Cru from 2005. Very good+ (90)
