Light ruby color with purple hue. Nose of small berries, spices, earth and this light natural wine funkyness. There is a great acidity in this wine which is good since it comes from the warm 2015 vintage, and I like that! Then there was berry flavors ,earth and spices notes. It was quaffable, fresh and really good. You’re looking for a wine that will pair with heavyier winter dish? This one’s for you! Very good (89)

Dense and bright ruby, almost purple color. Nose of red fruits, spices, flowers, earth, it’s complex and have a great minerality. On the palate the wine have depth but is not heavy, it’s round but have a good acidity, it’s bright but not thin. The flavors are tight and the earthy and flowery side of the wine is there and the finish shows the spices and minerality again. This is a pretty good gamay based wine. Very good+ (90)

Light ruby color. Aromas of red berries, spices, earth, some green notes and feels really fresh. On the palate the acidity seize a little at first, but then the fruit sine with mineral, spicy and earthy notes. It’s good and tru to what I wan when I drink a gamay, a wine from the County and one from that winemaker. Drank from a magnum size bottle, the ideal size for this wine (in my opinion)! Very good (89)

Medium dark purple color. Nose of fruits, berries, fruits, spices, fruits, earthFlavors are dominated by fruit notes, spices and earth. It might looks like a very primary description for a tasting note, but fir those like that are powered with Gamay based wines are gonna be pleased with this one. Might lack some depth or concentration, but this is quaffable… at that’s what’s great with it! Very good (89)

Quite dark purple color showing the warm vintage. Very aromatic with fruity, floral and earthy notes. Dense on the palate with a texture close to the one of biting into berries that leads to a spicy explosion. Good from now and for many years more as this wine has the depth to last and what it takes to be enjoyed today. Drank that bottle over a week just to see it evolve and it stayed stale all that time. Very good+ (90)

Beaujolais and other “Nouveau vin” may not be as popular as they were before, but I find that it is still and enjoyable exercice to try some of these newly released wines. As you may have seen, I like Gamay based wines a lot, and these wine won’t be an exception! Here is the first try on these newly released wines:

Light and bright ruby color. Nose of red berries as cranberries and pomegranate, then some spices, green notes and cereals. Not the ones you eat in the morning, but whole grains one. Lightly concentrated, high drinkability, shy fruit notes, spices and a reminder of natural wine. Great wine? Maybe not. This wine with a deli meat plate? Oh yes! Good (87)

Made of Gamay. Alcohol level of 12%

Available at the SAQ for 19,85$ (Code SAQ : 13170261)

Bright ruby color with purple hue. Slightly funky on the nose, which is common with natural wines, but it did disappeared with air. The nose is on crushed red berries blended with spices and earth notes. The fizz present at bottle opening did cleared out too with time. From the first sip, I know this was going to offer high drinkability. Flavors of red berries, spices and earth again. There is acidity in this wine and the ripe fruit flavors are not lowering the enjoyability of it. This is what natural and organic should be all about. The last third of the bottle drank 2 days after the bottle was opened was even better. Would I put this wine in a decanter? I think so! A really well made wine. Very good + (90)
