Château Yvonne La Folie Saumur-Champigny 2014

Dark purple color. Nose of blackberries, crushed raspberries with a good amount of spices notes. Silky mouthfeel at first, then  the brightness of the wine shows all the goodness this type of Cabernet Franc can offer. The tart and sour fruit flavors on the finish brings in an enjoyable vibrant twist. Very good (89)

Made of Cabernet Franc. Aged 12 months, partially in oak casks and the other part in oak barrels of 4-5 usage. Certified organic by ECOCERT. Alcohol level of 12,5%

Available in SAQ stores for 27,30$ (Code SAQ : 11665534)

Château La Lieue Coteaux Varois en Provence 2015

Dark cherry red color. Nose of dark berries, spices, earth and herbal nose all in a fresh way. This got strenght on the palate with a good chewyness, but the silky moutfeel balance all that. Flavors are of the same profile as on the nose, quite enjoyable and helps making you want to pout yourself another glass! To pair with burgers of grilled meat dishes. Good+ (88)

Pinard et Filles Frangin 2016

Dark and light purple color. Nose of wild berries Concrad grapes, flowers and earth. This nose is deep, fresh and inviting. Same on the palate with great flavors, this sour-bitter duo that I like so much, because it’s what makes this type of wine so easy drinking, without being thin or dull. In fact, it’s the complete opposite, you want more of that fruit explosion wine. Long finish, longer than what it takes to empy your glasse. Then you need more… Very good+ (90)

Made of 60% Frontenac Gris (stainless tank fermented, then ended its fermentation into bottle) and 40% of Petite Perle (whole bunch fermentation in oak barrels). Blended a month prior to bottling. Organic farming, natural winemaking. Total production of 520 bouteilles. Alcohol level of 12%. Label art by Marc Séguin.

Was sold by allocation. Can be found in some restaurants.

Domaine de Fa Fleurie Roche Guillon 2015

Dense ruby color with purple hue. Nose of mixed berries, meat, spices, violet flowers and then something leafy. Dense, deep but tight nose. Complete opposite on the palate with expressive flavors, a good acidity level, could be mistaken for a warm year Crozes-Hermitage from the Graillot familly. Fine finish on sweet spices notes. This is for me the perfect match between gamay’s drinkability and syrah’s rusticity, with a great acidity level and real yummyness. Excellent (91)

Domaine de Majas Côtes Catalanes 2015

Light garnet color. Nose of red berries, earth, there is some funkyness here but it went away with air to let pepper and clove spices show up. On the palate there is so much fruit flavors that the spices notes only comes up on the finish to give some punch to that festive wine. Good acidity level, high quaffability, it’s what natural wine can offer best! Very good (89)

Bernhard & Reibel Crémant d’Alsace 2013

Light gold color with good size bubbles, not too intense, lively in the glass even if they’re not lasting too long on the palate. Nose of toasted bread, pastry cream, apples, some yeast and hay. Really tasty and somehow concentrated, very long finish. Flavors of toasted bread covered with honey, orange and nectarines. There is acididy in this wine, some bitterness and salty notes. Was impressed with the complexity of this Crémant. This was not the last time I’m having this! Very good+ (90)

Beautiful ruby color. Nose of cherries, sweet spices (cinnamon), earth, it’s fresah and inviting. What a good idea to fall for the wine and listen to its call! Perfect acidity level, right amount of fruit flavors, of chewyness with just a touch of spice. As many Italian wine, this one shines when paired with food. And beware, this is the kind of bottle you go through quite rapidlyVery good (89)

Bright ruby color with purple hue. Slightly funky on the nose, which is common with natural wines, but it did disappeared with air. The nose is on crushed red berries blended with spices and earth notes. The fizz present at bottle opening did cleared out too with time. From the first sip, I know this was going to offer high drinkability. Flavors of red berries, spices and earth again. There is acidity in this wine and the ripe fruit flavors are not lowering the enjoyability of it. This is what natural and organic should be all about. The last third of the bottle drank 2 days after the bottle was opened was even better. Would I put this wine in a decanter? I think so! A really well made wine. Very good + (90)

Dark and shiny ruby color. Nose of strawberries, cranberries, aromatic herbs, spices and earth. Flavorful, does have some depth, have notes of spices and the finish shows a good acidity level. Medium structured, it doesn’t stop one to drink it quite rapidly! Very good (89)

Light ruby orange-ish color. Nose of red berries, gooseberries with some earth and green notes. Intense but not concentrated flavors of red fruits, rhubarb, gooseberries all paired with a bright acidity and a high drinkability. Satisfying and original as Jura can often do. Very good (89)
